Before managing or dealing with your
stress, it is of much importance to identify its factors first . The mission
does not seem as simple as it appears, there are no obvious or one to one
sources of stress; everybody has their own ones. Sources may differ from a person
to another and from an area to another. However, in order to better understand
the causes of your stressful life, it is advisable to recognize your daily
habits, your personal attitude, as well as your social encounter.
Some psychologists have managed to come
up with a list of the most common stress factors, though the list does not seem
to be complete. They can be as follows:
Work: getting stressed at work is very
common nowadays. It can result from workloads, unfinished work, deadlines,
conflicts with the boss or colleagues or even customers, concern over
promotions and the future of the company.
Money: one of the major causes of stress
is worrying about one’s financial position. Due to the world crisis, the bills
are going up while salaries and wages remain stable. Thus, most people find it
difficult to make both ends meet.
Emotional issues: Another main cause of stress is
the changes that undergo people’s feelings. In other words, there are ups and
downs in our emotions. We might love, then suddenly hate and break up. Young
people may respect their parents and end up by running away and living on their
own.
Family: The daily concern of parents over
their children’s future is a nightmare that is chasing them. They might spend hours
and hours thinking about their kids’ schooling, health care, and welfare.
Death: the loss of a loved one is a
direct source of stress. For some people losing their partners, parents, or
kids is the end of the world.
Spiritual emptiness: as I call it ‘emptiness’; some
individuals have no spiritual or religious resort. If you are not a believer in
GOD, you may end up touching the void and turning in an empty circle.
In brief, the above
causes are only some of hundreds if I don’t say thousands. Yet, it is of much
importance to keep them in mind when considering your case.
